What's New

Size: 58" x 58"
Technique: Foundation paper piecing.

All of the pieced blocks for this medallion style quilt are made using half-square triangle paper which is a quick, easy, and accurate method for constructing the block units and eliminates the need to mark sewing lines or square up blocks.

The paper templates for these blocks were inspired by half-square triangle paper. Simply cut rectangle pieces of fabric the size of a sheet of paper, layer, pin, sew on the dashed lines, press to set seams, cut on the solid lines, press seams to one side or open depending on the block, and tear the paper away. The paper is easy to remove and your blocks will be accurate every time. General instructions include detailed steps for each block design. Cutting instructions and a photo are included for the paper lantern. Use these blocks for existing patterns or design your own.
Welcome to AMC Designs!

Thank you for visiting my website. Many of my patterns are designed to be used with the Ultimate Seam Guide, a plastic guide that attaches to the sewing machine bed. My goal in the future is to have video lessons showing the different ways that I use the seam guide to piece quilt blocks quickly, efficiently, and more accurately.

At this time we are in the process of moving into our new home in the country and turning an existing building into a retreat center, so it will be awhile before any new patterns are completed.

In the meantime enjoy all of the free items that are available to download, including many styles of graph paper, sew-on-the-line™ templates, and alphabet and number blocks.

All of the patterns will be free downloads through 2018.

Size: 34" x 43"
Technique: Foundation paper piecing.

By using Sew-On-The-Line™ templates, the block units for this quilt can be sewn quickly and accurately without needing a special ruler or having to carefully align the seams for a 1/4" seam allowance. Fabrics used are from the color wheel. You may use any color combination.
